Prostate Sonogram Images

Below are several images taken from actual prostate sonograms performed at our clinic.

Image 1. TRUSP image of the transverse view of the prostate midgland.  This view and orientation allows calculation of overall gland size. Distances are accurately calculated. The prostatic urethra (dark horizontal line down the middle) and bladder (dark lobed figure at bottom) are also visible.

Image 2. Transverse view of the prostate base where a suspected lesion was noted.
Follow-up imaging with Color Doppler revealed no significant blood flow (no colors within the blue wedge).

Image 3. Sagittal view of the prostate.
Arterial circulation is clearly visible (yellow and green ‘structure’) at the hyperechoic region by the prostatic urethra.  While blood flow in of itself is not detrimental (usually positive for proper prostate health), circulation linked to a region of cancerous activity suggests increased activity and aggressiveness of a potential adenocarcinoma.

Image 4. Image of the right half of the prostate at the sagittal plane.  Shows a lesion of 1.16cm x 1.20cm at the direct center at the midgland.  Here it is located directly behind the prostatic urethra.
