Ordinarily. Power Color Doppler Sonography is done by the physician for maximum anatomical interpretation, due to the highly interactive process of varying color, power and other settings to better interpret the images.
3. How long will the exam take?
The Appointment is scheduled to take 30 minutes. The exam itself will take about 10 minutes depending on the problems that need to be analyzed in detail, followed by about a 20 minute interpretation/consultation with the physician.
4. What will I learn from the procedure?
You will learn exactly what is going on in your prostate, breasts, other areas examined and some discussion of options to treat or improve.
5. What should I expect?
You will be shown into the Sonography Examination Room, be given an opportunity to remove appropriate clothing then lie on the table on your back or side as the sonographer requests.. A small lubricated and sanitary probe is then utilized by the physician, for a few minutes to scan each area in several modes. It is not uncomfortable or painful.
Following the exam you will get dressed and meet with the physician for the interpretation/consultation.
